What to Bring:
- Smartphone (if you have one and if you have parental permission) – not all participants will need a smartphone
- Download the app called “BillionGraves” and register for free beforehand
- Full smartphone battery
- Charging cords just in case (car and regular type)
- Extra phone battery if you have one
- Make space on your smartphone for a lot of pictures
- Go to familysearch.org/billiongraves for more information on digitizing gravestones
- Dress: Wear “Mormon Helping Hands” shirt if you have one. Otherwise, wear a yellow t-shirt if you have one. Modest casual work clothes, closed toed shoes. Hats and sunglasses encouraged. Knee pads might be nice to have.
- Wear sunscreen and be ready to work outside in the sun
- Bring your own water bottle, lunch and water provided
- Garden clippers and tools to clear grass and debris around gravestones
- Umbrella to help for lighting with pictures
